FlashScan Pro runs locally in your browser: your scans and codes never leave your device.

This policy describes how the FlashScan Pro website (“the site”) handles visitor data. It applies to the FlashScan Pro web application used in the browser.
At a glance
- Everything is local: images read through the camera or imported are decoded in your browser and never leave your device.
- No account, no sign-up, no application server.
- No analytics and no in-house tracking: we do not monitor your visits.
- History stored on your device (browser local storage), erasable at any time.
- Google AdSense advertising: the only potential source of third-party cookies, subject to your consent through a certified consent management platform (TCF v2.2).

Local processing: camera, images and codes
The site offers two features executed entirely client-side, in your browser:
- Scanning: the camera feed (
getUserMediaAPI) is analysed locally; images imported from your device are read in memory. No image, no video frame and no code content is transmitted to any server. - Generation: QR codes and barcodes are produced in the browser from the content you type. That content is never sent over the network.
The camera permission, if granted, is used only while scanning. You can revoke it at any time in your browser settings.
Data stored locally (localStorage)
The application writes no data to our servers — there is no collection server. It uses your browser’s local storage (localStorage), exclusively on your device:

This data is neither read nor transmitted by us: there is no technical channel for that.
How to erase everything
- History and folders: the data deletion button in the app’s Settings section.
- All keys (including theme, language and consent): via your browser settings, under “Site data” or “Cookies and site data”, by removing the data associated with the site’s domain.
Offline operation (service worker)
A service worker caches the site’s technical files (interface, scripts) to allow offline use. This cache is local technical storage, of the same nature as the storage described above: it neither collects nor transmits any data.
Advertising: Google AdSense and cookies
The site is funded by ads served through Google AdSense (Google LLC, publisher ID ca-pub-8446673287319684). The AdSense script embeds a certified consent management platform (Google CMP / Funding Choices) compliant with the IABTCF v2.2 framework.
Depending on your choice:
- Full consent: personalised ads; Google and its partners may set cookies (for example
__gads) to tailor ads to your visits to this and other sites. - Partial consent: non-personalised ads only; no ad is targeted at your profile.
- Refusal: no ad request is issued from the page. Refusing ads does not block any site feature.
Your decision is kept for about 13 months (IAB TCF recommendation) in thefsp-consent key, after which you will be asked again.

Changing or withdrawing your consent
- Through the privacy link or setting displayed by the Google CMP on the site.
- By deleting the
fsp-consentkey (browser site data): the consent message will reappear on your next visit.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability over your data.
With FlashScan Pro, these rights are exercised mainly by yourself, on your device:
- Access: stored data is visible in the app (history) and in the browser’s developer tools (local storage).
- Rectification and deletion: history entries can be removed individually.
- Erasure: the Settings deletion button, or clearing site data, erases all local data.
- Objection and withdrawal of ad consent: see the “Advertising” section.

Updates to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to regulation. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page; please check it regularly.
